Feasibility Studies, DPR including Cost Estimation

Studies on cargo characteristics, relevant vessel and parcel sizes, throughput requirements, site features based on available information and data generated through specialists as required, system and infrastructure requirements and preliminary cost estimates for primary investment decisions.

Master Plan

Planned Layout of facilities covering operations and infrastructure; Land-use Plan; Phased Development plans with modular facility add-ons where possible; Ship movement within the port starting from anchorage; Flow Diagram identifying material flow through systems identifying key equipment, their capacities, numbers and inter-connections.

Marine Facility Planning & Designing

Harbour layout with navigation channels, entrance protection, vessel turning, port craft parking, berths and approach trestles to suit coastal topology, bathymetry and operations envisaged; Soil/bank retention structures, sand trap/bypass systems as required; Assessment of net operable days based on tranquility and climatic conditions; Specification and review of additional model studies if required for tranquility, navigation and mooring analysis.

Integrated Facility Planning

Through Detailed Project Report and/or detailed engineering propose:

  • Berth systems with design vessel size range, berthing forces and equipment loads, dimensions to enable operation, services and access;
  • Material handling systems covering ship-to-shore transfer, conveying, storage and reclaim, despatch/load-out systems with selection of buffer size, handling rates to support vessel arrival and cargo evacuation patterns commensurate with annual throughput;
  • Back-up area development considering soil preparation, filling, consolidation and grading as required on the basis of bore hole data analysis, planned loads, land use patterns, drainage and effluent settlement;
  • Operating infrastructure configuration and engineering for power distribution, lighting and control systems,
  • Dust and fire hazard mitigation systems and features;
  • Incorporation of features and parameters to comply with applicable environment norms;
  • Operation and service buildings such as gate complex, power sub-stations, control room, site offices, workshop and stores, pump rooms, etc.
